School Board Recognition Month

January is School Board Recognition Month. This provides an opportunity to not only celebrate the work of school board members, but also is an opportunity to educate the public about the role school boards play in shaping the work of schools and districts. The theme for January 2021 is Building the future of public education.

The Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) prepared several resources to help you celebrate School Board Recognition Month, including a toolkit with ideas, sample activities, press release, artwork, and sample messaging. These can be adapted and modified or used as is to help launch campaigns to celebrate and raise awareness about the role of school boards in Ohio.

You can also showcase the work of your school or district by sharing your plans for School Board Recognition Month. You can submit your plans here to be featured in OSBA’s Journal and website.
